Botan Nabe Nyogetsu-an
A long-established botan nabe (wild boar hot pot) specialty restaurant set in a former samurai chief retainer's mansion with traditional garden in Tanba Sasayama. An overwhelming 80% of customers are regulars. Uses wild boar hunted by the local Sasayama hunting association plus boar from their own farm — no gamey smell, tender meat. The chestnut miso sauce is exceptional. TripAdvisor rating 4.5/5. Busiest during the botan nabe season (November to March).
