Kappo Nakaiya
A kappo (upscale Japanese cuisine) soba restaurant in Tsumagoi village run by descendants of Nakaiya Jubeei, a merchant-patron of the Meiji Restoration and the opening of Yokohama. Five minutes on foot from Manza-Kazawaguchi Station. The owner personally forages seasonal mountain vegetables—from spring fuki to autumn mushrooms—in the village hills and forests to make tempura. Freshly made hand-rolled soba uses stone-ground buckwheat from Shinshu, Hokkaido, and local Tsumagoi. The restaurant is a steward of Tsumagoi food culture with approximately 70 types of mountain vegetable dishes. Jalan 4.2/7 reviews, TripAdvisor 4.2/10. Featured on TV's 'Karisometen'.
