Tonkatsu Miyako
Tonkatsu Miyako opened in August 2017 at the foot of Sendai-zaka near the Ninohashi intersection in Azabu-Juban. Run directly by meat wholesaler Niku no Ishikawa, it uses carefully selected pork from Kanagawa, Gunma, and other regions. Despite having only 15 counter seats and 4 table seats, lunchtime queues are common, and the moist, juicy fillet katsu is the signature draw.
One reviewer praised “the perfect balance of moist, juicy fillet and sturdy, crisp breading,” and a blogger who has visited 11 times calls it “personally my favorite tonkatsu shop right now.” Lunch queues form shortly after opening, and the takeout paper katsu nori bento is also popular.
