Kamaage Udon Iwami
Founded in 1972, a famous kamaage (pot-cooked) udon restaurant located in front of JR Aoshima Station. The hand-rolled noodles cooked to order in a pot, and the 60-year unchanged broth made from 4 ingredients (kombu, katsuobushi, iriko, saba-bushi) are superb. Amazingly affordable at 450 yen. Famous for being visited by the Yomiuri Giants during their Miyazaki spring training; signed player photos line the walls.
"Can't believe this quality for 450 yen" "The 60-year unchanged broth is the best" "Always stop by when sightseeing in Aoshima" "The real taste that even pro baseball players visit for"
