Ajidokoro Yoshibei
A local diner in Jumonji, Yokote, running for about 38 years. Known as one of Akita's 'three great katsudon' spots, it serves a hearty pork cutlet rice bowl with sweet-savory sauce and soft egg. Also famous for its shockingly cheap ¥200 ramen. Once a hidden gem, it became widely popular after a TV feature. Run by a husband-and-wife team, the diner still carries a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere.
One Tabelog review calls it 'a savior for lunchtime refugees, filling you up at unbeatable value, a true ally of the common folk.' Since being featured on TV by celebrity Hikomaro, reviewers note it has become 'extremely crowded.' Long described as a beloved local diner.
