Sohonke Sarashina Horii (Main Branch)
Founded in 1789, this is one of the most revered Edo-style soba restaurants in Japan. The signature 'Sarashina Soba' is pure white, made only from the starchy core of buckwheat seeds, with a delicate sweetness. Famous for long New Year's Eve queues. Large 70-seat restaurant suitable for families. 5 min walk from Azabu Juban Station.
Regulars say 'One taste of the white soba and you know it's in a different league' and 'Only place for New Year's Eve soba.' Loved by both tourists and locals.
