Wakaeya
A traditional restaurant established in 1698, continuing for 16 generations as the only old-established restaurant in the Kitsuki castle town. The specialty 'Tai Chazuke Ureshino' is named after a lord who reportedly whispered 'How delightful.' Fresh sea bream marinated in a secret sesame sauce passed down within one family, served over rice with Kitsuki tea—a flavor from the Edo period. Featured in Oishinbo manga.
