Marumangyakitori (Main Store)
Founded in 1954, this legendary yakitori restaurant is said to be the origin of Miyazaki's momo-yaki (grilled chicken thigh). The signature style is bone-in chicken thigh grilled dramatically over binchotan charcoal. Counter seating only (25 seats), with lines forming before opening. Selected Tabelog Top 100 Yakitori 2025. Cash only, non-smoking. Only 2 locations (main store + branch, no chain expansion).
"Must-eat momo-yaki when visiting Miyazaki" "The charcoal aroma and chicken flavor are superb" "Worth lining up before opening" "Watch the craftsman work up close at the counter" "Quality exceeds the price"
