Hozumitei (Uwajima Local Cuisine Izakaya)
A casual kappo restaurant 5 minutes from Uwajima Station, set in a traditional Japanese house by Hodumi Bridge. A celebrated spot for Uwajima tai meshi — sea bream sashimi tossed with tare and egg yolk, then poured over hot rice. Also features fukumen noodles, shark dishes, and other rare local specialties. Originally a ryokan in the early 20th century, converted to kappo in 1976. Selected as Izakaya Top 100 (2024, 2021).
