Kama Hiro
A handmade Sanuki udon shop just 1 minute from JR Tsurugaoka Station. The owner made annual pilgrimages to Kagawa to learn the craft before opening in 2002. The house-made noodles — blended from Hokkaido and Australian wheat kneaded with Naruto salt water and left to rest for a day — are shiny, smooth, and impressively chewy. The chicken tempura uses a proprietary soy-marinated technique for extra crunch. Selected for Tabelog Udon West Top 100 in 2022.
Praised for the combination of powerful noodle chew and superb dashi broth. A local institution in Tsurugaoka, beloved by regulars who say the owner's dedication to Kagawa training is evident in every bowl.
