Founded in 1930, Sougetu has spent more than ninety-five years keeping faith with a single storefront in Higashi-jujo — no mail order, no branches, just one address.
1930年（昭和5年）創業、95年以上にわたって東十条この一軒のみを守り続ける老舗和菓子店。
Its dorayaki, made with a signature dough enriched with brown sugar and honey, sells for just 162 yen a piece, yet consistently leaves customers speechless at the quality.
通販も支店も持たず、黒糖と蜂蜜を練り込んだ独自製法のどら焼きは1個162円で、「この価格でこのクオリティは異常」と絶句するファンが後を絶たない。
Winner of the gold medal at the 1961 National Confectionery Exhibition and counted among Tokyo's top three dorayaki, the shop sees two-hour queues at peak times and sometimes sells out shortly after opening — an irreplaceable Higashi-jujo institution.
1961年全国菓子大博覧会金賞、東京三大どら焼きの一つに数えられ、繁忙期には2時間待ちの行列も珍しくない、東十条が誇る不動の名物だ。
