Founded in 1861 as the birthplace of Fundokin Soy Sauce, this is the only dining spot in Usuki where you can taste the city's traditional local cuisine. The Miso Soup Gozen from ¥700 includes Ouhan (yellow rice colored with gardenia fruit), Kirasu Mameshi (made from tofu lees), barley miso soup, and sesame tofu. Dining available weekdays only (11am-2pm; retail only on weekends). At the heart of Usuki's food culture, recognized as part of UNESCO Creative Cities Network for Gastronomy (only 2nd Japanese city).
