Chubo Wakamatsu (Origin of Nakamura Shio Tataki)
The birthplace of 'Nakamura shio tataki,' the local bonito dish unique to Shimanto City. Salt-ponzu made with yuzu citrus, rather than soy sauce, is the traditional Shimanto River Valley style. Featured in the manga Oishinbo as the origin of this local specialty. Also excellent for river shrimp tempura and other Shimanto River-inspired dishes.
Reviews say 'salt tataki is a completely different thing from soy sauce tataki — eating it here made me understand the real thing' and 'I can't stop eating the river shrimp tempura.' TripAdvisor 4.3 (14 reviews). A genuine izakaya used daily by locals.
