Masuda Unagi
A long-established eel restaurant in Shinmachi, the historic former castle town of the Miike Domain. Only domestic eel from Tokushima, Kagoshima, and Miyazaki is used. The signature dish is 'Seiro-mushi,' a Chikugo-region specialty where steamed eel is placed over sauce-soaked rice and steamed again. The melt-in-your-mouth texture and mildly sweet sauce have earned loyal local fans for generations. Also available for takeout and mail order.
