Naniwaya Sohonten
One of Tokyo's three great taiyaki shops, founded in 1909 (current corporation 1984). The restaurant is said to be the model for the beloved 1975 hit song 'Oyoge! Taiyaki-kun.' Uses only Tokachi (Hokkaido) red beans slow-cooked for 8 hours the day before. The 'natural style' single-mold taiyaki has crispy skin and abundant filling. Selected for Tabelog Wagashi 100. 2nd floor has a Japanese sweets cafe.
Regulars say 'Once you try this taiyaki, you can't eat others' and 'I always stop by when I'm in Azabu Juban.' An institution loved by both tourists and locals.
