Gokabo Taneni
A traditional confectionery specializing in Gokabo, a local Kumagaya sweet, founded in the Meiji era (1868) and now run by the 5th generation. Gokabo is one of Saitama's three major specialty sweets, certified as a '100-Year Food' by the Agency for Cultural Affairs (2021). Using green soybeans from Yamagata Prefecture, everything from the kinako (soybean flour) to the gokabo core is made entirely by hand.
