Ajidokoro Mon
The birthplace of Tome City's famous aburafudon — a rice bowl using wheat gluten fried in vegetable oil (abura-fu) in place of meat in an oyako-don. Invented 30 years ago by the proprietress of the adjacent Ebimon Inn. The dish spread throughout the city, led to the founding of the 'Aburafudon Association,' and gained national recognition at the B-1 Grand Prix. At 750 yen, this is the only original source for Tome's signature local cuisine. Located in the heart of Toyoma-machi, 'Miyagi Meiji Village.' Ingredients sourced directly from local farmers; even the soy sauce is locally produced.
Reviews highlight: 'the birthplace of aburafudon — unmissable,' '750 yen is incredible value,' 'best enjoyed alongside the hatto noodle soup,' 'pair with a visit to Miyagi Meiji Village,' 'simple, heartwarming flavor.' Listed on both the Tome City Tourism Association and city hall official websites. Also reviewed on Jalan and Retty.
