So popular that a numbered-ticket system is in place, and on the Day of the Ox, people queue from 4-5am. Kyushu-style charcoal grilling yields crispy-outside, fluffy-inside eel. Orders are cooked to order—about 30 minutes wait—yet repeat customers never stop coming. The rice from contract farmers pairs perfectly with the eel.
