Inaka-an
A renowned handmade udon and soba restaurant founded in 1969. They use domestically produced wheat flour (Chikugo Izumi) from Fukuoka and natural salt from Okinawa, with a secret house-made dashi passed down from the founder. One of the few authentic places to enjoy Oita's regional 'dango-jiru' (dumpling soup). Closes when sold out. About 10 minutes walk from Yufuin Station.
Locals say 'there is nowhere else for authentic goboten udon and dango-jiru.' The 'close when sold out' approach is proof of the real thing. The dedication to quality ingredients at this 1969 restaurant comes through clearly. TripAdvisor 4.0/41 reviews.
