Mimatsu Shokudo
Founded in 1931 (Showa 6), the oldest diner in Tsuwano. Located along the approach to Taikodani Inari Shrine. Famous for 'black inari sushi (Tsuwano Black)' simmered in a secret family sauce passed down through generations. Dark in color but the condensed soy umami is addictive.
Reviews say 'looks aside, the vinegar balance is great—you eat it up in no time,' 'a simple diner with Showa-era atmosphere,' and 'the standard stop after visiting Taikodani Shrine.' Many repeaters. TripAdvisor 4.0 (20 reviews). Tabelog 91 reviews.
