Shizuoka Oden Ogawa
A dagashiya-style oden (Japanese fish cake stew) institution since 1948 on Asama Street. The broth, made from beef tendon, has been continually replenished since the restaurant's founding, creating a deep, dark Shizuoka-style oden. Featured on the official Shizuoka City Tourism Association website as a symbol of Shizuoka oden culture. Oden skewers from 100-220 yen.
Reviews highlight the nostalgic dagashiya atmosphere, the deep flavor of the jet-black soup, the 70+ year old continuing broth, and locals and tourists lining up together. A regular favorite at the Shizuoka Oden Festival.
