Sobagiri Yamada
A genuine handmade soba restaurant opened in 2013 by a former office worker. The main offering is Ni-hachi (80% buckwheat) soba made from stone-ground flour from Kuromatsunai and Mashu buckwheat. Water from Lake Kutcharo spring water and coconut oil for tempura frying - absolutely meticulous. A hidden gem quietly standing near Kojohama hot springs. Yahoo Maps 3.7, TripAdvisor 4.2 (6 reviews). Takeout available.
Reviews saying 'the stone-ground soba has a different aroma', 'I'm glad this dedicated shop is in Shiraoi', 'I'll definitely come again' - review rating 4.2. An authentic soba restaurant in Shiraoi also listed on Upopoy's official gourmet guide.
