Pork Chap Restaurant Roman
What was once a secret menu item for regulars about 30 years ago has spread by word of mouth and now draws customers from across Japan. The signature dish is pork chop made from extra-thick slices of Hokkaido pork (mainly Akan Pork) loin, baked in a 230-degree oven for about 40-50 minutes and topped with a special ketchup sauce. The 700g portion requires over 50 minutes to cook, so advance reservation is recommended. Featured on the national TV program 'Omou Made' in June 2024. Has an official website. Takeout available.
Highly praised as 'an astonishingly large pork chap', 'worth going out of your way for', and 'a former regulars-only secret menu that is now known nationwide'. Popular with 147 Tabelog reviews and 24 Tripadvisor reviews. Also sold as a highly popular Furusato Nozei product with a 4.75 rating. Quality maintained after the June 2024 TV appearance. A September 2025 visit review also praises 'impeccable volume and meat quality'.
