A craftsman trained in Kagawa opened Taiga independently in 2012, holding the line at 630 yen for plain broth udon, a remarkably humble price for Kyoto.
「行列嫌いな京都人が並んでも食べに来る」と評されるほどの実力で、香川で修行を積んだ職人が2012年に独立開店した店はかけうどん630円からという京都では破格の良心的な価格を貫いている。
It fills to capacity the moment the doors open every day, with a name board perpetually full of waiting customers, praised as the shop that even queue-averse Kyotoites willingly line up for.
