Founded in Meiji 5 (1872), this is Otsu's oldest unagi kaiseki restaurant, nestled near the Osakanoseki checkpoint ruins on the old Tokaido Road. Otsu's eel food culture was designated a '100-Year Food' by Japan's Agency for Cultural Affairs in 2023, and this restaurant represents it.
