Yakiniku Ichiban
Established in 1977 (Showa 52). A hidden yakiniku gem tucked under the Shinkansen overpass. Uses only female cows of A4 grade or higher, with housemade sauce, kimchi, and namul. Only 22 seats—reservations almost essential. Google Maps 4.35, Tabelog 3.54, 107 reviews. Regulars unanimously say 'there's no yakiniku in Takatsuki that beats this.' Even with drinks, the cost is around ¥5,000 per person—extraordinary value. A new sister restaurant 'Yakiniku Don Ichiban' opened in February 2025 (direct management, not a franchise).
'Number one yakiniku in Takatsuki. The salted tongue is the best I've ever had.' 'I come more than once a month. The tenderness of the harami skirt steak is something no other place can match.' 'If you can get a reservation, you absolutely must go. Eating A4 wagyu at this price is a miracle.' 'The atmosphere under the Showa-era overpass is unique. First-timers may wonder if this is really the place—but one bite is a revelation.'
